# Infusion

*Infusion* is a special feature of Paydirt [Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)](/virtual-items.md#non-fungible-token-nft). It enables Paydirt NFTs to contain tokens like [Paydirt Gold](/paydirt-gold.md) or even other NFTs. In Paydirt, this feature is primarily used to *infuse* [Paydirt Gold](/paydirt-gold.md) into Paydirt NFTs representing gold items.

Behind the scenes, [Paydirt Gold](/paydirt-gold.md) is *infused* into every [Gold Nugget](/virtual-items/collectibles/gold-nuggets.md), [Gold Coin](/virtual-items/collectibles/gold-coins.md), [Gold Bar](/virtual-items/collectibles/gold-bars.md), or any other gold [blockchain-enabled item](/virtual-items.md#blockchain-enabled-items) whenever it is converted to [Non-Fungible Token (NFT)](/virtual-items.md#non-fungible-token-nft) form (through [Import & Export](/import-and-export.md)).\
\
In other words, every Paydirt NFT representing a gold item is *infused* with [Paydirt Gold](/paydirt-gold.md) when it is created or minted. The NFT becomes a container for the [Paydirt Gold](/paydirt-gold.md) ERC-20 token and ownership of the NFT is ownership of the tokens contained within it.\
\
The amount of [Paydirt Gold](/paydirt-gold.md) infused when an item is created or minted is equal to the item's *gold weight,* which is the amount of *pure gold* it contains.\
\
Infused items may also be [melted](/paydirt-gold/melting.md) to recover [Paydirt Gold](/paydirt-gold.md).\ <br>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://whitepaper.paydirt.game/paydirt-gold/infusion.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
